道端の紫陽花が雨粒で輝く季節となりました。
私、KOTONAというウィメンズブランドのデザインをしています山下と申します。
今回は服を作るうえで大切な「生地を選ぶ」ことについて私の視点について、少しぼやこうかなと。
梅雨の手前の6月、日中は暑く汗ばみ日が沈むと肌寒いこの頃、どんなスタイルで過ごすか悩ましい方も多いのでは。
私自身は基本中にティーシャツなどのカットソーの上にシャツスタイルが多いせいか、シャツ地に対して人一倍想像を膨らましております。ブランドのスタンスとしてはだらしない人(人間味のある方)に向けて提案しているせいもあって、色々な角度の視点で生地を選んでいます。最近リリースされたシーズンのものは起きぬけの静かな朝に贈るシャツのコレクションです。そのうちの１型のシャツについて。

I am Yamashita who is designer of women's brand called KOTONA. This time, I would like to talk a little about my point of view on "selecting fabrics" which is important in making clothes.
In Japan,June just before the rainy season, it's hot and sweaty during the day, and it's chilly when the sun goes down. I think there are many people who are wondering what style for spending around this season.
Perhaps I often wear a shirt on top of a T-shirt or other cut-and-sew basically, so I am more imaginative about the shirt material. As a brand stance, we are proposing to people who are sloppy (very human), so we select fabrics from various angles. The latest season is a collection of shirts for a just woke up quiet morning. About one of those shirts.

貝パールボタンが特徴のリラックス感のあるオープンカラーのシャツ。原材料の麻はFrench Linenを使用。C.C Finishという加工を施すことで繊維を優しく叩きほぐし、ソフトでふっくらとした風合いに。仕上げは洗いざらしのワッシャー仕上げですが、リネン本来の艶感と光沢感で品の良い生地に。
こちらの生地に決めたのは、リネン特有のシャリ味を抑えられファーストタッチが柔らかなこと、品のある光沢感がありがならギラつき過ぎず薄手であること、着た時に肌との距離感生まれる程よいコシ感あるといったことがポイントに。
品のあるものを流すように着るアイテムを提案したい弊社としては、今のような季節の朝一番に羽織るとしっくりくるはずです。
生地を選ぶ時、どんな時に着るか、どんな風に見られるか、どんな着心地を感じてもらえるかといった想像をよりリアルにできるかがポイントかなと思っています。

【Morning Shirts】
A relaxed open-colored shirt featuring pearl buttons. French linen is used as the raw material. The fibers are gently beaten and untwisted to give a soft and fluffy texture by finishing called C.C Finish. The finish is a washer finish of washed-out, but glossy and luster of the original linen make it a good-quality fabric.
The reason I decided on this fabric is because it has a soft touch that reduce the crispness peculiar to linen, and it is thin without being too flashy but it has an elegant luster, there is a feeling of distance from the skin when worn and it has moderately bounce.
For us, who want to propose items that can be worn in a flowing manner, this shirt should fit when worn first thing in the morning of like this season. When selecting a fabric, I think the point is to be able to make the imagination more realistic, such as when to wear it, how it looks, and what kind of comfort it feels.
