「雨の日でもお洒落を楽しみたいなぁ」そんな事を思いながらS N Sを見ていると、レインアイテムとは思えないほどのお洒落なデザインで、雨の日以外でも使いたくなるアイテムを次々と発見。
むしろ雨の日が待ち遠しい・・・そんな風に思ってしまうほど魅力的なレインアイテムでテンションが上がってしまいました。
そんな今回は「雨の日を楽しむファッション」のお話しをしていこうと思います。

・レインアイテムの歴史
レインアイテムとして最初に誕生したのが「傘」。
傘は約4000年前からあったとされています。
実は、古代エジプトやギリシャの壁画に傘が彫刻されているのですが、最初に誕生したのは雨傘ではなく日傘でした。
当時の日傘には、日差しを遮る役目以外にも、自分の権力を示す一つの手段でもあり、女性の装飾品としても使用されていました。
その後雨傘や折りたたみ式傘が誕生し、1747年木の樹液をコートに塗り防水加工したものがレインコートの始まりだと言われています。
1823年には「マッキントッシュ」が防水布を発明して特許を取得しました。
当時のイギリスは雨が多く、移動する時は馬車に乗ることが多かった為、傘をさすことが困難に・・・そんな中で誕生したマッキントッシュのレインコートは瞬く間にイギリスで広まり「レインコート＝マッキントッシュ」のイメージが定着していきました。
ちなみにレインブーツも、同じぐらいの時期にイギリスで広まりました。
レインブーツは当初、乗馬をする時に履くブーツとして使用されていましたが、デザインが良いことから広く親しまれるようになっていきました。
