はんなり暮らし㉒～衣(KOROMO) ～

今回は京都の寺町にある衣(KOROMO) さんについて書かせていただきます。

寺町商店街を歩いているといつも目につくお洋服屋さん。
勇気がなくいつもお店の前を素通りしていたのですが、今回、ブログで書かせていただこうとお店に勇気を持って声をかけさせていただいたら快くぜひお願いします！とお返事をいただけたので、書かせていただきます。


This time, I would like to talk about KOROMO store in Teramachi, Kyoto.

There is a clothing store that is always noticeable when I walk in the Teramachi shopping district.
I didn’t have a courage to pass by in front of the store all the time, but I tried to ask the store with a courage to write down about the store on my blog this time, so I received a good reply from them, so I will talk about it.

衣(KOROMO) さんの店内で最初に目に入ったのが、能書きというもの。
お店に張ってあったのでご紹介させていただきます。

能書き　衣は一枚一枚手作りです。

布に魂を入れてくれる職人たちの思いを伝えていくのが私たちの仕事です。
生きものと同じ大切に育てください。


The first thing I saw in KOROMO’s store was called “Nougaki” in Japanese.
I will introduce it because it was posted in the shop.

Nougaki, clothes are handmade one by one.

It is our job to convey the thoughts of the craftsmen who put their souls in the cloth.
Please raise it with the same care as a living thing.

なんか、胸にずしんと突き刺さる・・・・。能書き。
スタッフさんと少しお話をさせていただきました。

最近はファストファッションが人気で安く購入し、流行ファッションを楽しむ人が多いですよね・・・・
そして良い物を知る機会が減っていますよねとついついファッションの話で盛り上がってしまいました。
スタッフさんから、衣(KOROMO) さんの会社の信念について教えてくださいました。


Somehow, it sticks in my chest …. Nougaki.
I talked a little to the staff.

These days, fast fashion is popular and many people buy it cheaply and enjoy fashion and the chances of knowing good things are decreasing.
The staff told us about KOROMO’s company beliefs.

時間の糸を織り込んだ古い物にしかない味わいも、思った通りに仕上げてくれる最新式の織り機も、限りなく愛おしいパートナーで、日本独特な手間暇かけた染色技術を見せつける藍のグラデーションを表す襤褸（らんる）やＢＯＲＯ（ぼろ）も、世界中の人が称賛してやまない華やかな京友禅の着物も、この京都の土地にはことのほか集まってきます。
それは、服作りを家庭科だけではなく美術の領域に変えてくれる土地でもあり。
そして、お寺の多いこの土地は、禅宗からの言葉も人々の暮らしの中に教えを説いてくれます。

「木綿往生」（もめんおうじょう）
木綿は人の肌を優しく包み、用をなして擦り切れてもなお、雑巾として役に立ち最後は繊維になって往生する・・・。
いつの時も人には優しく、それでいて我が身を汚してでも、周りの良くすることをいとわず出来るように。という、人の生き方そのものを教える言葉でもあります。
毎日、布というものが傍にあり、それを思い出させてくれるこの仕事をありがたく思います。
そして、その布がどのような糸で紡がれ、どんな職人の手で形成されてきたのか…。ということを、自分の目で確かめるフィールドワークを大切にしたいと思っていますとのこと。とても共感できました。


The taste that is unique to old things that weave the thread of time, and the new weaving machine that finishes as you want, are endlessly beloved as like partners, and “RANRU” and “BORO” that express the indigo gradation, which shows the unique Japanese dyeing technology and gorgeous Kyo-Yuzen kimonos that people all over the world praise are gathered in this land of Kyoto.
It is also a land that transforms making clothes into the field of art as well as home economics. Ans in this land with many temples, words from Zen Buddhism also teach in people’s lives.

“Momenojo” ,
Cotton, momen in Japanese, gently wraps human skin, and even if it is used and worn out, it is still useful as a house cloth and eventually becomes a fiber to attain birth.
Be kind to people at all times, and be willing to improve others even if you get dirty. It is also a word that teaches the way people live.
Every day, there is a cloth by my side, and I am grateful for this work that reminds me of it.
And I could sympathize so much because they believe that the fieldwork is important to confirm with their own eyes such as “what kind of thread was spun for the cloth and what kind of craftsman’s hand was used to form it?”.

サスティナブルと最近話題となっていますが、こちらのお店では、そもそものコンセプトがもはやサスティナブルとなっており、良い物を長く大切に着る。

能書きにも書かれているように、伝統工芸の職人さんの思いを伝えていくまさに私が今までブログ内で書いてきたことが実現されているお店でした。


Recently, it has been talked about “sustainable”, but at this shop, the concept is already sustainable, and people can wear good things for a long time.

As written on Nougaki, it was a shop where what I had written down on my blog was realized, which conveys the thoughts of the craftsmen of traditional crafts.
