年代とファッション①～Y2Kファッションはすぐそこに～

ファッションの流行りは20年周期であるとよく耳にしますが、確かに20年という時の流れは大きいですよね。
皆さんは今から20年前、誰と、どんな場所によく出かけ、食事をし、どんな手段で人と連絡をとり、そしてどんな洋服を着ていたか思い出せますか。
また、当時の服装と今着ている服装の違いはありますでしょうか。
2020年代である今、私が生まれたばかりの時代に流行したY2K(Year2000)ファッションが、リバイバルするということになります。

そこで今回は、Y2Kファッションの特徴と取り入れ方についてご紹介したいと思います。

I often hear that fashion has a 20-year cycle, but it’s true that 20 years is a big trend.
Can you remember with who, where you often went, where you ate, how you contacted people, and what clothes you wore 20 years ago?
Also, is there any difference between what you were wearing at the time and what you are wearing now?
Now in the 2020s, the Y2K (Year 2000) fashion that was popular when I was just born will be revival.

So, this time, I would like to introduce the features of Y2K fashion and how to incorporate it.

①ローライズジーンズ

ハイウエストからジャストウエストと現在までに変化してきましたが、どんどんウエストが下がり、ローライズへ。
当時はロングチュニックとジーンズを合わせるのが流行っていたようです。
私の大好きなパンクロック界のクイーンであるアヴリルラヴィーンがローライズジーンズを主に履いていたことが印象的です。
ジーンズ以外にも彼女のファッションが再び流行する日が近づいているような気がしています。
ロングチュニックと合わせるのは難易度が高いという方は、ベーシックなTシャツに合わせるだけでも、Y2Kファッションとして十分成立しますよ。


Low-Rise jeans

It has changed from high waist to just waist until now, but the waist is getting lower to low-rise.
At that time, it seems that it was popular to wear a log tunic and jeans.
It’s impressive that my favorite punk rock queen, Avril Lavigne, mainly wore low-rise jeans.
Besides jeans, I feel like the day when her fashion is going to be popular again is approaching.
For those who find it difficult to match with a long tunic, just matching it with a basic T-shirt will be enough for Y2K fashion.

②マイクロミニ

ここ数年はロング丈とミニ丈という、両極端なスカート丈が主流だったので、ミニ丈がお好きな方にとっては挑戦しやすいアイテムかもしれません。
タイトなトップスやキッチュなアクセサリーに合わせると、一機にキュートな印象が作れます。
また、ミニ丈お得意のロングブーツとの相性も最高なはずです。
ロングブーツは今期のトレンドでゲットした方が多いと思いますので、春先のスタイリングに活用してみてはいかがでしょうか。


Micro mini

For the past few years, extreme skirt lengths like long length and mini length have been the mainstream, so it may be an easy item for those who like mini length to try to wear it.
Matching it with tight tops and kitsch accessories can create a cute impression.
Also, it should be the best match with long boots and mini length skirt.
I think that many people got long boots in this season’s trend, so why not use them for styling in early spring?

③トラッカーハット

トラッカーハットは私と同世代の方なら、小さいころに友達や、自分が被っていたよいうことがあるかもしれません。
トラッカーハットは、アメリカのブランドであるパタゴニアが、トラック運転手の為にデザインした帽子だそう。
最近は見かけなくなったこのキャップのデザインをどう取り入れようか、私自身も少し悩みます。
ポップなピンクや青、緑など、思い切った色とキャップの前頭部の柔らかいコットン生地がマッチしやすいようです。


Tracker Hat

If tracker hats have the same generation as me, a friend of mine and I might wear them when they were young.
Tracker hats are a hat designed by the American brand Patagonia for truck drivers.
I myself am a little worried about how to incorporate the design of this cap, which has disappeared recently.
It seems that the soft cotton fabric on the front of the cap is easy to match with the drastic colors such as pop pink, blue, and green.

実はY2Kファッションを私が取り上げた理由として、私の母親が2000年代のファッションアイテムを今でも取り入れていることで、身近に感じていたからです。
流行だけを知ろうと必死だった中高生時代の私には、母のファッションが理解できない時期もありましたが、流行りに流されない彼女なりのスタイルを、今ではとてもリスペクトしています。

How’s this time? Actually the reason I picked up Y2K fashion was because my mother is still incorporating the fashion items of the 2000s and I feel close to it.
